About Us

Lower Columbia College is a public, two-year institution of higher education specializing in pre-college, high school/GED, vocational, technical, worker retraining, and university transfer programs.

Faculty and staff at LCC recognize the important role community colleges play in educating and preparing individuals to enter or re-enter the workforce. The college's Mission ensures each learner's personal and professional success, as a powerful force for improving the quality of life in our community.

In 2011 54% of 'transfer ready' students transferred to a four-year college or university. 81% of students who graduated from professional technical programs became employed within nine months. 719 students graduated with either an associate degree, or a certificate/completion.

Business and Industry courses and programs provide workforce development and training courses designed for employers and employees. Areas include: customized training, skills assessment, job preparation and workforce training, and professional certification.

Continuing Educaiton offers non-credit short-term and online courses, seminars and workshops. Courses are designed for busy adults who want personal enrichment, professional development and/or recreation. Classes are held on campus, at churches, retirement centers and other locations in the community. Online options include ed2go, Gatlin Education Services and Command Spanish.

The college has been accredited by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities and is a member of the Washington Community and Technical colleges.
